Vibrant Purple Sugilite and Turquoise Bracelet
SOLD! This beautiful sugilite and turquoise bracelet was created by myself from A-grade sugilite stone mined in South Africa and green turquoise mined in Nevada.
The green DeMale turquoise stone comes from a 60-square miles zone in Central Nevada. The mines are no longer producing it.
I almost miraculously stumbled upon a stash that had been stored away in Tucson, AZ for 30 years or so.
The silversmithing is the work of my friend Guy Hooskie of the Navajo nation.
These top quality gems are extremely rare today as the mines do not produce them anymore. See the video below.

You are looking at a vibrant purple sugilite and turquoise bracelet, which I created during the summer of 2014.
The beautiful sugilite stone takes its color and marbling from manganese ore. I sourced out this A-grade material from a South African mine, some 7,000 feet underground.
The green DeMale turquoise stone was mined out from Nevada. It takes its color from its zinc content. Actually, this quality of turquoise could only be found within a 60 square miles zone in Central Nevada. The mines are no longer producing it. I almost miraculously stumbled upon a stash that had been stored away in Tucson, AZ for 30 years or so.
The silversmithing is the work of Guy Hooskie of the Navajo nation. Guy’s art is remarkably precise. Each depression in the metal is produced by stamping the silver with a hammer. The cuts are evenly spaced, it is an extremely meticulous work. Guy ornamented the bracelet on each sides of the stones with a shell design that represents water.
This a unique piece which marries very high quality gem stones now extremely difficult to find.
